The Industry Task Team on Climate Change (ITTCC) is the climate change committee within the Energy Intensive Users Group of South Africa (EIUG), focusing on the risks and opportunities inherent in South Africa’s transition to a low carbon economy. It is a voluntary, non-profit association made up of industrial companies in the fields of mining, materials beneficiation and manufacturing, as well as climate change related subject matter experts.
The committee focuses on the technical aspects of climate change to support industry to make informed decisions on climate-change management, taking both a physical and transition risk lens. It also serves as a Community of Practice for members to share latest developments in climate change matters across several areas that include, but are not limited to, technology advancements, policy interventions and standards.
Our members operate across a range of strategic sectors that are vital to South Africa’s industrial and energy landscape.
